![]() Funds raised support many children’s activities including: Healthy Beginnings free health screenings New Generations low-income day care enhanced science and math programs and field trips for the local K-8 public school grants to offset “pay-to-play” activities fees for low-income kids to participate in school athletics grants to local 4-H clubs, Boy Scouts, Lego Robotics competition, building bus stop shelters and providing scholarships for parenting classes. First, we introduce our kiddos to running, multi-sport and a fun, active lifestyle and secondly, we teach our kids how to give back because 100% of the proceeds from their participation in these events supports Care for Kids, and serves approximately 2,000 kids under the age of 18 in the area between Bend and La Pine, Oregon. We’ve got to start them young! Our Kids Splash, Pedal & Dash events accomplish two things. We ask all AquaBike athletes to make their way to the finish line race chute to go across the finish line so we can announce their finish and award them their finisher’s medal. After they cross the last bike timing mat coming into the Transition Area, their race is over. They will start their race with a 5k run followed by 56.70 mile bike ride and then a 13.1 mile run to the finish.īEASTMAN AQUABIKE – Athletes will complete the above Swim and Bike courses. The total elevation gain is 4,592’ feet.īEASTMAN RUN – 13.1 miles – A mostly flat loop course on widely paved bike paths that traverse next to the beautiful Deschutes RiverīEASTMAN DUATHLON – Athletes will not complete the swim portion. After completing the turn-around, cyclists follow the route back up Mt Bachelor, once reaching the top elevation of 6,419 feet cyclists will make the exhilarating descent back to the finish line at Riverbend Park. Bachelor Ski Resort and Devils Lake on their way to the turn- around point at 28.25 miles. ![]() Upon leaving city limits cyclists gear up for a gradual 14 mile (2000’ Feet) ascend of Mt Bachelor passing the Mt. The out & back course begins in Riverbend Park, cyclists follow Century Drive to the Cascade Lakes Scenic Highway. The bike course will be marked with large directional signage and there will be course marshals at key intersections to help direct you. Wetsuits are recommended.īEASTMAN BIKE – This 56.70 Mile bike course will truly earn its “Beastman” title. The temperature will be taken on Friday and the morning of the race. WATER TEMPERATURE is expected to be between 62 – 66 degrees. ![]() Medical support will be present on the beach. Kayakers will be positioned on the water to support the swimmers. Large buoys will mark the Swim in and Swim exit points. This is a down river swim in the heart of Bend. BEASTMAN SWIM – 800 meters – Swim in the pristine Deschutes River with Mt Bachelor as your backdrop.
